I’m on SPRING BREAK!

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

So, I just wanted to let you all know that I won’t be updating the blog for about a week or so, because I’m going on Spring Break! Stylist and I are headed to Florida, and seriously, I’ve never been more excited for a vacation.  This vacation means no work for me at all, but I will have limited access to email if anyone really needs me.

Be back in a week!

Casual Friday.

Oops, it is Friday, isn’t it? Sorry for abandoning you this week! If you really missed me you can check out my posts on The Milwaukee Wedding Boutique.

I’ve been fighting a nasty cold this week so I had a little time to catch up on the TV shows that I love. Biggest Loser, being one of them. Has anyone tried Jillian Michael’s 30-day Shred? I consider myself a little bit of a fitness junkie but have never gotten over my love for Tony Horton to try any of Jillian’s videos. I am wondering if she really kicks your butt or if she’s all talk.

You have to check out this modern elopement feature courtesy of one of my favorite blogs, Ruffled. I am so in love with that dress and it makes me wish I chose a little more bold option for my own gown.

Most people know that I am not a huge football fan. I am certainly excited the Packers are doing well, I am a Wisconsinite after all, but saying that I don’t care about the outcome of Sunday’s game would certainly be a fact. Anyway, my point is that there is so much buzz about this game that it’s driving me insane. I really wish I could sleep through the next 3 days so I didn’t have to hear the song, “Fly Like a Cheesehead,” a million times over.

I have been perusing the new collections from many of my favorite designers and I think I have found my absolute favorite dress for a spring or early summer wedding. Curious? Check it out! I am thinking of heading over to Miss Ruby to try it on and perhaps buy one just for fun.

Go Pack! (hehe!)

Holiday Gift Ideas | For the Bride.

1.Colin Cowie Wedding Chic: is filled with gorgeous wedding inspiration. The book touches on the majority of wedding elements including bouquets, centerpieces, stationery, and food and drink. My advice for getting the most out of this book is to find a few elements that you love and incorporate them in your own way. The designs as a whole can be over whelming and unattainable with most budgets.

2. A unique tote is the best way to carry around that huge binder that holds inspiration and contracts.

3.  Every bride needs a way to stay organized. From my experience, Emily Post’s Wedding Planner is the most functional.

4.  A custom bouquet charm from Paloma’s Nest is a great family heirloom.

5. Every bride deserves a shirt exclaiming their obvious title. Had I known about the Wedding Chicks custom tees for my wedding day, I would have surely sported one.

Happy Holidays!

Fabulous Find :: Wedding Chicks Tees.

Wednesday, October 13th, 2010

The Wedding Chicks blog is one of my favorites and while perusing their site yesterday I discovered they offer adorable tees, totes and even groom apparel. I am typically not a fan of shirts that read “Bride” in rhinestones, but theses Bride tees are modern, hip, and totally stylish. The Wedding Chicks also offer customizable versions of most of their products. I am so in love!

Which is your favorite? I am totally obsessed with the bow tie groom tee!

Be Appreciative.

Today I am feeling incredibly humbled and blessed with a new opportunity I was recently presented with. An opportunity that will hopefully change my career and help give me the push I need to make The Wedding Boutique a huge success. There will be more about this opportunity in the weeks to come but today, I want to remind everyone to be appreciative.

You may be wondering how on earth this relates to planning a wedding but my point is simple. Amongst the stress of planning a perfect  day we often forget what the day is about and the stress can sometimes make us act a bit out of character. Remind yourself to be appreciative for those who are contributing (whether monetary or some other way) to your wedding day and also remember the day is about the union and journey you and your love are about to embark on. Live in the moment and be thankful, always.
